My Approach

My aim is to guide and accompany clients into and through the varieties of their self expression. For some people, feelings relating to past significant events may be imprisoned inside, frozen in time. Using metaphor and imagery can help to unlock feelings and experiences, lessening the impact that they can have on their present lives.

I work holistically, paying attention to what is being expressed and how, what's happening to the client's face, body, energy levels and also to the space between us. As a psychotherapist, I work integratively, employing psychoanalytic and humanistic approaches.

"The creative experiment, if it works well, helps the person leap forward into new expression or at least,  it pushes the person into
the boundaries, the edges where his growth needs to take place"
J Zinker, "Creative Process in Gestalt Therapy"

[creative expression here refers to fully being present with all one's imagination, energy and excitement]
